How This Site Checks Titles

Last updated 1 November 2026

Where the facts on each title page come from, how they are checked, and what happens when they do not match.

How titles are chosen

This site starts with about 150 titles. First come the series that the guides on this site already cover. Then come the series people search for most. After launch, 10 to 20 new titles are added each week, and each one goes through the same checks.

Where the facts come from

Each series on this site has a record of facts: its English and original names, the country it comes from, who wrote it and who drew it, the original publisher, the format, its status, the chapter count, the years it ran, any adaptations, and the official places to read it in English. Every fact keeps its value, the link it came from and the date it was checked.

The facts come from two kinds of source. The first is Wikidata, a free, open database. It supplies names, credits, origin, the original publisher, dates and adaptations. The second is the official page for the series on the platform or publisher that releases it, such as Webtoon, Tappytoon, Tapas, Manta, Lezhin or VIZ, or the original Korean, Chinese or Japanese platform. That page supplies the status, the chapter count, the format and where the series can be read.

This site does not take facts from fan databases. It never uses sites that post chapters without a licence.

When two sources must agree

Some facts need two sources that agree. The English name, the original name, the country of origin, and the story and art credits must match on two official sources on different sites, such as Wikidata, the official platform and the original publisher page.

Other facts need one official source. Status, chapter count and format come from the official platform or the original publisher alone, because that page is the authority on its own series. When a series has both an original platform and an English one, both are recorded, and the English chapter count is shown on its own line when it differs. The list of official English platforms comes from each platform's own live page for the series. The original publisher, the start and end years and any adaptations come from Wikidata, or from an official publisher or studio page when Wikidata does not have them.

When a fact does not check out

If two sources disagree, or a fact has no source that qualifies, that fact is not shown. If the fact is the English name, the country of origin or the status, the whole series is held back. A held series does not show up in search engines. Its page, if it has one, asks search engines not to index it, and it is left out of the sitemaps and out of this site's own search. A series that was already live keeps its last checked value until the new one is confirmed. Lists that include a held series show only its name and the reason it is on the list, with no facts and no reading link.

Held series are looked at again every week. An AI model reads both sources and any other official source, such as a publisher page or a press release. It records which source wins and why, and the decision is logged.

Weekly checks

The facts are checked again every week, so a change in status or a new chapter count shows up. A separate weekly check opens each platform link to confirm that the page is still live and still lists the series. A dead or removed link is dropped. If no official English platform is left, the page says "No official English release found as of" followed by the date of the check.

The "Where to read legally" box on each title page shows the date its reading links were last checked.

Who writes the text, and who checks it

The short summary, the trope tags, the "if you liked this" picks and the quick facts on each title page are written for this site. They are not copied from a database. An AI model drafts them.

No person reads each page before it goes live. Instead, a second AI model, different from the one that wrote the draft, checks every factual statement against the checked record and its sources. If anything does not match, the page is held back. Each trope tag must give a reason and link the source that supports it. Page titles, search descriptions and image text are built from checked facts by a fixed template, not written freely.

An automated check can still miss things. If you find a mistake, please report it through the contact page.

These checks cover the title pages. The guides and ranked lists on this site link to those title pages for checked facts, but their own text does not go through the automated check.

Covers and reading links

Title pages do not show cover art. Each series gets a designed card instead: its title set in type over a colour, with the country flag and the series status. This site does not copy cover images from reading sites or platforms.

The "Where to read legally" box lists official platforms only. Links to Amazon for print volumes may earn this site a commission, and the affiliate disclosure explains how that works.
