Manga

Japanese comics, printed in black and white and collected into volumes. The oldest of the three traditions and by far the deepest catalogue, which means the best of it has already finished and you can read a complete story from end to end.

Manga is the only one of the three still built around print. Chapters run in an anthology magazine, then collect into volumes, and a series ends when the author decides it does. That structure is the reason manga has finished stories to recommend and the other two mostly do not.
